Kringle the Chistmas Bear

I don’t really wish to tell the story of Kringle….but it won’t be as bad as painting him.
*sigh* Alright.

It was Christmas eve way back when I was….idk about 5 years. We each were able to open one present early. I was excited by the sparkly red one. when I picked it up. I recall the box being rather cold…yet…having hot spots here and there. I opened the box. ….Nothing but a dumb ol’ bear.
I was sent to bed. “go sleep with your new bed buddy, honey”
….I detested the thing. I threw it onto the dresser. Facedown.
I layed my head on my pillow
I never was afraid of the dark, but…after that day… I reconsidered.
Rolled over, and I see Kringle sitting upright….looking right at me.
…one of his reddish brown eyes lined up with sliver of light from the hallway door.
Started at first…. I simply told myself that’s just how he landed.
I slept.
Weeks went by. Kingles gaze always seemed to fallow me. not always, but just when I didn’t pay attention to him.
One day, I had enough. I picked up a bat. I threatened him to look at me one more time. …he turned his head right at me.
I dropped the bat and got the heck out of there!
A few more weeks went by.
I kept him in the closet because I was tired of his crap.
Nothing too odd happened till…
Kringle’s fur started falling out.
Yeah….this was a good move to creep me out, Kringle….but it led to your undoing.
Mom was always the type to throw away my broken toys….no matter how much I loved…or loathed them.
I kicked the garbage bag as my final farewell.
